Wilma Kay Vinyard

Wilma Kay Vinyard, 73, Butler, died Friday, March 29, 2024, at her home.  She was born October 12, 1950, to Charles Fredrick and Wilma Blanche Hauser Saunders in Waterloo, Iowa.

Wilma, one of seven children, grew up and attended school in Waterloo, Iowa where she graduated high school.  She had lived in Oshkosh, Nina, Berlin and Wautoma, Wisconsin before moving to Pleasant Hill and Butler, Missouri.  Wilma was a homemaker and a Certified Nurses Assistance in Wisconsin.  She married Gerald Edward Vinyard.  

Wilma was known to be loving but ornery.   She loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her cats and dogs.  

Wilma is survived by four sons, Paul Ramirez, Butler, James Ramirez, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Darrell Vinyard, Missouri and Scott Vinyard, Independence; a daughter, Tracy Secrist and husband Steve, Pleasant Hill; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Saunders, Wisconsin and William Saunders, Texas; and three sisters, Hazel, Nancy, and Judy Saunders all of Wisconsin.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry Vinyard in 2013; and a sister, Norma Saunders.  

It was the wishes of Wilma Vinyard to be cremated with no public services at this time.  Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri.  Online condolences www.schowengerdtchapel.com.
