Virginia Ann Lindsey

August 13, 1935 – February 20, 2024

Virginia Ann Lindsey, 88, of Harrisonville, MO, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Foxwood Springs in Raymore, MO. Visitation and Funeral services were held February 24, at Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.  Interment followed in Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or MO Hospice and Palliative Care in Virginia’s honor.

Virginia was born on August 13, 1935, in Springfield, the daughter of Theron and M. Elizabeth (Berg) Nash. She spent the first 9 years of her life in Springfield, but then moved to Osceola and graduated from Osceola High School. After high school, she moved to Kansas City. In 1963, Virginia married the love of her life, Jordan Lindsey, in Kansas City and they raised a family together after moving to Harrisonville in 1964. She spent her career as a bookkeeper for Mobil Oil Co and Spencer Chemical Co in Kansas City before her retirement in 1995.

Throughout her life, Virginia was not only a pillar of strength to her family but a guiding light to her community. A member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville. Virginia also served in various voluntary roles, such as being a devoted volunteer for organizations like the March of Dimes, American Red Cross, and the American Cancer Society. Her commitment to helping others made her a cherished member of the Harrisonville Business & Professional Women, a Girl Scout Leader Assistant, and a Boy Scout Webelo Leader Assistant. Virginia touched the lives of all who knew her with her warmth, compassion, and generosity. She will be deeply missed but her legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jordan; her son, Shawn Lindsey; and her brother, Jerry Nash. She is survived by her son, Mark (Stacy) Lindsey; her daughter, Brenda Boly; her grandchildren: Lindsey (Jonathan) Connor, Bradley Freeman, Felix Lindsey, and Ethan (Kayt) Lindsey; her great-grandchildren: Katelyn Love, Zachariah Costello, Everett Lindsey, and Jackson Lindsey; her sisters: Susan (David) Hilty, Mary Lynn (Dubb) Townsend, and Lana (Scott) Cutbirth; and her sister-in-law, Peggie Nash; as well as, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family members, all of whom were touched by her kindness, grace, and unwavering love.
